In 1996, Wes Craven single-handedly resurrected the horror genre with his self-aware hit, Scream. Since then Hollywood has tried to cash in on the 90s Teen Slasher Movie Chock Full O' Beautiful People format with multiple sequels and bastard half-cousins that are pale reflections of the original, everything from I Know What You Did Last Summer to Urban Legend to The Rage: Carrie 2. Of course this is by no means the first time Hollywood has taken a hit movie and thoroughly beaten it to death with sub-standard knock-offs. If history truly shows that we make the same mistakes again and again, then it's only going to get worse from here.
